I'm Carol and I'm in Florida.

I'm Alan in Florida as well.

The first home we had in New Hampshire, we had a massive ice storm.

We had a well, so a toilet didn't flush. We had no heat. We worried about the pipes freezing.

The water leaks into the basement. Who knows how much damage. It could just be a disaster.

Al managed to get somebody to drop a generator off and that was our first Kohler generator

In Florida the issue wasn't that it was too cold - It's too hot. And we said, you know, if we put a generator in, we don't have to leave. We just button up the house.

The first hurricane we experienced was Ian and when the majority of the state is out, it can be - Well, in that particular hurricane, it was 2 weeks, so we felt really fortunate that we were ready.

We washed the laundry for the lineman who came down from all over the country.

They were busy working, trying to get the power back up.

I mean, they had left their homes to come help us and what can we do?

And the big thing was laundry.

These guys were in the same clothes they were wearing.

They were wet, they were dirty.

And so, we washed the laundry and put in cookies and a thank you note.

In a time like that, everybody wants to help, and when you have the capability to help somebody, it felt good to be able to do something for them.

If a big storm is coming through, I'm not anxious about it.

I don't have to worry about all my food going bad, knowing I can get up in the morning and my cup of coffee is ready and I can get a hot shower.

I charge my golf cart.

Oh yeah, that's important.

That's important.

I don't want to live life without backup power.

I said to Al having a generator is like having our insurance policy.

For me it just makes perfect sense to have some sort of backup.

Having a Kohler generator makes me feel peace.

It's complete comfort.

It's like we have power.

When the power goes out, it goes on and everything in my house works.

What more could I ask for?
